flew to Barbados and cruised back to the Med for 3 weeks on Thomson Dream with my wife, sister and her husband. They found the deal and are experienced cruisers but this was our first and not as good as we had hoped or expected. The ship is huge and the staff try very hard to look after you - extremely well since tips are not expected! But the food was disappointing - being the same in Orion, Lido and Sirens albeit the service is much more personal in Orion and you pay extra for the other options. And the standards are inconsistent too - no tie at the captains dinner then no entry but come to the second sitting (when chances are he has gone) and you can wear shorts it appears! And it isn't just the Germans with a problem with towels and sunbeds.

The entertainment team also try their best and some acts are very good but others are just awful.

Lots of other guests were quite happy so it's probably just not for us but don't expect any complaints to be heard - we thought the house white wine particularly poor and the exchange rates on board astronomically punitive but got no reply so beware.
