Sail Date: Apr 2014

Celebrity Cruises needs to tend to this poorly maintained ship. She is a rust bucket, full of dust and mold and not well cleaned. While the norovirus was found onboard my sailing and several previous sailings, staff were used to serve all food and service items, vacuums were not used to keep the virus from spreading, thus creating an environment that was like a dirty petri dish. My cabin was dusty, had mold in the shower, torn bed skirt, dirty carpet, and was motel six not modern Luxury! The exterior of the ship was covered in rust, dirty, and overall felt unkempt and uncared for. as embarkation in Hong Kong was delayed due to the heavy cleaning of the ship due to the pre existing virus, there were no Celebrity staff on the pier so check in was done by local Hong Kong staff who were slow and totally unfamiliar with processes, collecting passports, and credit card swipes. It was a total mess.

Once onboard after tremendous delays, there were few staff onboard as the invisible hotel Manager let many have shore leave so there were few if any crew present. to add insult, the car keys issued shore side did not work and guests had to return to the front desk, wait in long lines, and have the keys reissued-welcome Aboard! I won't go into it but having been on several previous Celebrity Cruises, I found the staff affable, ships well cleaned and smelled clean, and the food to be a par above many others. This cruise was a let down in all departments from housekeeping, poor food quality and preparation, and painfully slow and seemingly inexperience crew onboard. The hotel Manager walked around with her hands behind her back rarely engaging guests and seemed like she had a wall built up around her to protect her from approach-not so friendly! I did not complain as the problems on this poorly kept ship were too large at hand to even begin to cover but there was no element of Modern Luxury on Millennium. I did take most meals in Q-suine and Olympic where the food quality was quite good but service, again, painful...

The ports were pretty good and I enjoyed the itinerary but this ship does not hold a candle to Celebrity Silhouette or the Solstice Class ships. I really suggest readers car fully peruse the other reviews, check with the CDC on the health of this ship, and BEWARE!
