First off I want to say the embarkation was the fastest I have ever seen. When first finding your way around the ship you hit a lot of dead ends as the set-up is a bit choppy. Once you get your bearings, navigating the ship is a breeze. The ship is gorgeous and kept extremely clean.

The cabin was well appointed and quite spacious. The shower was a bit tiny, but you can get the job done in it. Our housekeeper kept the room clean and well supplied with clean towels. The only 'complaint' I might have was not having ice in the room when we arrived and being told we would get it in the evening. (Was terribly dehydrated and was dying for some ice water while unpacking.) The other problem was small but annoying. The garbage can was kept over by the closets and was far more convenient to dispose of the trash by the desk as that was where I tested my sugar and gave myself my injections. But my housekeeper moved the can back to the closet area every day.

I found the food in the buffet line to be quite good and varied. It IS a Italian ship and a leaning towards Italian foods is to be expected. It is broke up into different areas and that keeps from having long lines in any one area. The Dining Room food was also great for the most part. I think it would serve MSC well to add a 'American' selection for each course. This is not Americanized Italian food, but the real thing and may not be pleasing to all palates. OK..I think some major tweaking is needed in the set-up of staff in the dining room. They have a head waiter and a assistant for four tables of potentially six people each. These guys work very hard, but its impossible for them to give that many people good service, especially when they also have to handle supplying the wine and bar drinks. Once the orders are taken, the assistant is kept running back & forth to deliver the orders and picking up the different courses of food. What was totally lacking at our table (we all preferred ice water as our beverage) was getting ice water and then getting it refilled as needed. We also were not offered coffee with dessert and had to request it. One additional person would have made a world of difference.
