First time cruise but not the last.

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Asia
Embarkation: Singapore
Cruising was something we both were in no hurry to sample but after taking our first cruise on Journey to celebrate our 60th birthdays we can't believe we have waited so long to join the cruising community! We only booked a short 12 day cruise in case we were not enjoying ourselves but when the final day came we were both very reluctant to leave our cabin which had been our home for the voyage. We had a great time and after settling in and getting used to life on board we found we could spend our days as busy or as chilled out as we chose to be. It was up to ourselves.

Our verandah cabin was terrific and we did not have to lift a finger thanks to our attendants Dustin and Edgar. Thanks guys especially for the little personal touches which we would find after you had been in.

We enjoyed sampling all eateries on board and would recommend others doing the same. Can't say we were bored with what was on offer, with choices for somewhere to eat and variety of food that More should suit even the fussiest of eaters. We liked the fact you can choose where you would like to eat and who you would like to sit with on all occasions. No set seating or times imposed.

Staff were terrific and it is apparent they enjoy what they are doing. We found they were happy to go out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant cruise. Officers, staff and crew mingle freely with passengers and are happy to stop for a chat if time permits. Captain Johanas and Cruise Director Eric provide their own little comedy routine on a daily basis! Too long to explain, you have to be lucky enough to get first hand experience of the 'Two Brothers'! This in all makes for a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere for everyone on board.

There are lots of nooks and crannies around the ship to make yourself comfortable. A small example being, reading quietly in the library or on a sofa in The Looking Glass over looking the beautiful view of blue ocean, having a drink at one of the many bars, relaxing by the pool after having your latte and pastry at Mosacics or sitting on your own verandah watching other ships go by. Many more things on offer depending on what you enjoy and then of course there is also excursions in port to keep you from being too bored!

We went to a few of the nightly entertainments of which there are 2 sittings, so you can work it in with your dinner arrangements, and found them to be very enjoyable especially when Eric was involved in any way. Very talented man.

All up we found we thoroughly enjoy cruising, especially on a ship the size of Journey. In fact we enjoyed it so much we booked another cruise while on board, and we now look forward to joining the crew of Journey again next January. Less

Cabin review:

Plenty of room for storage in cupboards and under bed. Good layout. Loved having our own verandah. Ate breakfast there at least half the mornings of our cruise. Nice also to sit and have a quiet read, a drink or just to watch the world go by.
