There were four of us in our party, my husand & I and our very good friends. I will not repeat the horror story of us waiting to board. Princess gave us tickets for water and chips as a way to soothe things over. We had been on a RCCL cruise and they sent us to a zoo in Miami and paid for our lunch while the ship was being cleaned. We had a balcony on the Lido deck. We had one cabin steward and our friends had a different one. Our cabin steward was great, his name was Angel who was always available to us. Our friend’s steward barely acknowledged them as we walked past her. We never saw anyone cleaning. On RCCL they are cleaning round the clock. We were so annoyed by this we went to the Purser’s desk to ask if they had small containers of Purell to hand out to the passengers, we were told that they did not and the ship was being cleaned, we asked when because we had not seen any indication of anything being cleaned. We were told by the not so friendly girl at the desk that there were specific hours. Since the weather was cool and you really couldn’t spend time out by the pools we were inside the ship quite a bit and WE NEVER SAW anyone cleaning. We told her that was unacceptable for Princess to not be doing whatever they could to clean the ship. She did ask our cabin numbers but we never heard anything from anyone about our dissatisfaction of the cruise. We all spend a lot of money to go on these cruises and the least Princess can do is to make sure that we have a great vacation and not have to worry about being sick. Fortunately no one in our party got sick. We did not appreciate the nightly announcement by the Captain during our dinner detailing the symptoms of the sickness. We also found the crew was not overly friendly. We found the cruise to be boring. The entertainment was terrible. We have never been on a cruise when the broadway type show was less than 30 minutes long. There was not a lot to do on this ship. We spoke to many others who all felt the same way. When we left the ship and were on the way to our hotel, another couple was in the van and the woman asked us “Was this not the worse cruise you have ever been on?” and we had to agree with her. We have cruised Princess before and always had a good time but I think that we will stick with RCCL where we always have a good time and they take care of their passengers to the best that they can. When a ship comes back to port sick, the cruise line should completely sanitize the ship from top to bottom before allowing the next passengers to board. Apparently Princess does not believe in this.
