This a 5yr revisit to the Ruby Princess on a short 4 night cruise, from a port intensive 12 day Mediterranean cruise 5 years ago. Also, I was able to enjoy different parts of the ship that I was unable to explore before, because of fatigue or time factors.

My 1st impressions are that ship is just as clean, well-kempt, and still has that brand new feel.

Cabin Review

I would also recommend that even if you are pleased w/your 1st cabin on the same ship, it would behoove you to change the type of cabin, or the location. This would give you a different feel of the ship. Here, we changed our location to a mini suite with bath tub shower combination as opposed to the small showers with flimsy curtains in the regular balcony rooms. This mini-suite had a nice sitting area in the cabin, 2 flat screen TV’s, and a nice size balcony. Therefore we were able to comfortably entertain twice in our cabin, and the guests mentioned that the next time they will book a mini-suite, as opposed to an inside cabin. The welcoming champagne was nice. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. From now on, it is a mini suite for me, unless the cruise is port intensive, where there are less sea days and less time on the ship, then a nice or deluxe balcony would suffice. The views of the sunrises, sunsets, and stars are well worth the extra costs.
