My wife had never cruised before and was a bit sceptical to go on a cruise for our honeymoon. I had been on 3 cruises before this one all of them with Carnival and loved each one so we talked about it and I promised her that we would have an amazing time. She trusts me so she agreed and since then was so excited especially since it was our honeymoon and we were going to see 5 exotic ports in the Caribbean (St. Thomas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts, and St Martin). We even paid extra to have the upgraded balcony on the Verandah Deck.

We are both adventurous type people so we booked an excursion a day. Usually in the mornings so we could have the rest of the day to go sightseeing. The huge problem was neither of us got any sleep. The sound of constant foot traffic thru out the entire night and the constant moving of dining wagons/carts (the ones that contain plates and silverware) on the tile floors of the Lido Deck (right above us) kept us up the entire night every night. We called guest services the next day and he looked for another balcony room for us but couldn't find any that were unoccupied. We were well within our 24 hour full refund guarantee and I even told the Guest Services Person we wanted off the ship but he reassured us that he will tell the dining staff on the Lido Deck to not move around the wagons after midnight and would give us a lame discount which was not even comparable to the fact that this was our honeymoon. We took it thinking that the noise would stop but it never did. Mainly because it was in a part of the buffet style dining area that served food 24 hours a day. After the second night we called him and told him we wanted off the ship but he said sorry our policy was only for 24 hours. What a rip off. The noises never stopped and we were stuck on a ship we couldn't sleep on for the remainder of the cruise. It was even so bad that we thought about island hopping ourselves but we didn't know the customs rules nor where to even stay. So we decided to tough it out and make the best of it hoping and praying that the late night noises would stop but they never did.

We just got back last night and the lack of sleep has us extremely tired, sleep deprived and sick with some kind of flu/cold. Our eyes are blood shot red and our throats and voices are gone. The noise was so obnoxiously bad that we even slept in the balcony for one night but that was very uncomfortable. We even tried earplugs but still had no luck sleeping because when they would role the carts, the entire room would vibrate.
