I've been on several cruises, 4 different cruise lines and have been a repeat customer of RC about 5 times. Consistently excellent food, service, entertainment, you name it. We went on Oasis last June and I have to say it was by far the most memorable cruise we've ever taken (husband and two boys, 9 and 13.) Everything was incredibly smooth and well-managed, the staff seemed to love working on the ship, happy to be there, the service was outstanding, check-in and disembarkation smooth and expedient, and everything in between.

Did we have fun on Allure this year for Spring Break? Yes. Although it is an identical ship, it was a completely different experience and felt like a different ship altogether. The Pro's: The food and entertainment were outstanding, as were some of the waitstaff and bartenders, namely Dennis in the main dining room and Ziggy at the Trellis bar. And of course the shows were all top of the line. The ship is beautiful, as well. This time we did the western Caribbean and last year Eastern, and preferred the Eastern. More interesting excursions and beautiful ports of call. Ok, Allure. Check-in and disembarkation was managed rather poorly and took quite some time as compared to Oasis. We didn't get on the ship until about an hour and a half later than we did on Oasis and had to scrap our plans for the day in Ft. Lauderdale because disembarkation took so long. Poorly managed. The staff in general didn't seem as service-oriented and you didn't get a warm feeling from them in general or that they wanted to be there. Some passengers were friendly but very few said hello or even smiled and there was a lot of cutting in line. It felt as though we were with a different class of people, had to keep reminding ourselves that this wasn't Carnival. Everyone seemed so friendly on Oasis, it was odd. On several occasions the advertised "specialty drinks" with premium liquor were made with call as we observed the bartenders. Who knows, maybe we were spoiled by Oasis. Not that we didn't have fun, but if we could do it over again, we'd do Oasis hands down :)
