Good but room for improvement

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Other
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
Just back yesterday from a 5 day cruise on Constellation to Key West and Cozumel.

I enjoyed the cruise and had a great time but since our last cruise 5 night cruise with Celebrity in 2011 we were a little disappointed. We could definitely see the cuts Celebrity has made.

Boarding was easy and quick. Walked on the boat and had to look for the welcoming mimosa. The girl giving them out looked surly and was not very welcoming. Almost looked like we inconvenienced her!

Formal night dropped the lobster and baked Alaska which we were looking forward too. Had we known this we would have skipped bringing the formal wear.

Buffet food was okay but not very warm most of the time. We found the buffet food was not as good as our first cruise. Desserts in buffet also not as good or plentiful!

Cruise director seemed non existent except being filmed in various parts of the ship. Zumba instructor amazing! House band not so good! We didn't take in any shows More in the theatre so cannot comment on that.

Spent most of the time on the boat by the pool. Great waiter staff in this area! Big shout out to Germaine!

Dining room staff in anytime dining absolutely fabulous! Domingos and his crew provided friendly amazing service. We joined friends one night downstairs for set time seating and the service was terrible. The waiter came to take my order first and I was not ready so I requested that he start with someone else first and he walked away from the table and came back 15 minutes later. Water was not refilled or filled at all, cutlery not taken away and service just bad in general. At the end of the meal the waiter said he had a special surprise for us for dessert and brought us all the same dessert. We didn't like the dessert and would have rather ordered off the menu. Coffee and tea were also not offered.

We had a balcony room and again were very pleased with the room and service.

We enjoyed Key West and the trolley tour! We had visited Cozumel before and found the port area shopping changed and not as nice.

Ship itself is fairly nice but they had issues with the ceiling planks falling down by the pool one day. One of the planks actually fell down and hit a lady. Another plank was not fixed until we pulled into port.

All and all it was a great cruise but not sure if I would bother taking a five day cruise with Celebrity again. Less
