I guess you could call my wife and me experienced cruisers. We have been on several cruise lines and this was our 5th RCI cruise. I must say that it was almost like the first cruise I ever took. I was awed. We decided to splurge and booked a grand suite, room 10260 port side. We usually get a balcony room because we love the view and the sun. This was a major step up. Boarding only took a few minutes and we were off and running. We had my time dining and had different wait staff and table mates each night. Ate at 2 specialty restaurants, Chops and Johnny Rockets, both were excellent. I like the fact that there were several options for meals. I have read reviews about watered down orange juice and lousy coffee. Well, we had some of the best orange juice ever at the wipe out cafe (our favorite little breakfast place) and the coffee was always hot and fresh at the donut shop on the boardwalk. I am a foodie and I can say that the food on this ship was average. I have had better meals on cruises, however the service made up for the quality of the food. I would say if you couldn't find something you like to eat, you are a whiner.

We always enjoy Labadee and spent the day on the beach Did not get off the ship in Jamaica. I did go to Cozumel for a short time to do the helmet dive. I highly recommend it. To us, the ship is the destination. Entertainment was great. Although I enjoyed every show, Hairspray was my favorite. Very professional. Best vocals I have ever heard. The aqua show and ice show are must sees as well. The comedy club had 2 of the funniest comedians I have ever heard. The ship was in great condition. I only saw a little wear on some of the carpet. All in all very clean and shiny. Cabin steward was great. One of the few problems we encountered was the remote control for the TV. It never worked. Even got a new one and it still didn't work. Luckily, there was a wireless keyboard that operated the TV and it worked fine. There were just a few times that we experienced a crowded feeling. These were on sea days at the main pool areas. We especially enjoyed the solarium. Our favorite was the giant hot tub that extends over the side of the ship. We read many reviews about this ship and almost all were very favorable. We had such high expectations that I was afraid the cruise would be a let down. It was the reverse. It exceeded our expectations. I may need to retract a statement made earlier in the review. If you are a first time cruiser and take this cruise, where do you go from here. I'm afraid everything else will seem blah.

Cabin Review

Cabin was spacious and very elegant.
