I've sailed on 7 different Carnival ships and our room on The Dream was really the best for the value. We chose a deluxe ocean view (included in standard price) and the room advertised a "junior bath" which turned out to be a second bathroom without a commode. It was a perfect second shower room for families as well as a changing area. Huge closet space, shelves, drawers, etc. There was refrigerator in the room and of course a fabulous view.
The deck bars on this ship (Blue's Tequilla and Red's Rum) offered fun poolside bars with activities for the family each evening. These are in the immediate area of the main pool, large movie screen and 24hr pizza area.
The Dream has, by far the most "layout" areas for both families and the adult serenity decks that I've seen on a ship as it relates to the size of the ships ratio. There were lounge chairs, upright chairs, couches, hammocks and much more which made for hassle free "at sea days" when guests usually contend for outdoor seating and tanning areas.
As mentioned above, this was by far the best stateroom category for the price that I've experienced. The balconies are nice but costly and so rarely used. This stateroom offered the junior bath which was amazing and had lots of storage areas.
