Cruise Review  Jewel of the Seas  March 8 – 15, 2014  San Juan  Tortola  St Maarten  St Kitts  Dominica  Barbados

We are a family of 3 (55, 52, and 9). This is our 8th cruise, all with Royal Caribbean. We chose this cruise because we had not been to 3 of the 5 Islands. We had a wonderful time on this cruise. We also had a family of friends that this was their first cruise and as is common on cruises we met new friends that we will stay in contact with.

We arrived in San Juan on March 6th and stayed at the Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino. The hotel was very nice with a very nice beach. All of the employees we interacted with were wonderful. We had dinner the first night at Oceano. We had ceviche, calamari, scallops, and snapper. All were wonderful if a little pricey but it was dinner the first night on the beach! For breakfast on the 7th we went into old San Juan and ate at Casa Cortes Chocobar. It was wonderful. The Chocolate Martini was to die for. We toured Fort San Cristobel and spent the afternoon at the beach. We had dinner at La Cueva Del Mar Calle Loiza. The fish was great and price even better.

Cabin Review

We were in JS 1040. As with a balcony, once you have a JS it will be very hard to go back to a standard room. The view from the balcony was great. Donna our suite attendant was wonderful. She kept fresh Ice in the room all the time. We wish we had another WOW card to give to Donna.
