The Celebrity Silhouette is a beautiful ship with the best group of Officers I have ever sailed with. We have been on over 40 cruises since 1980 and this ship proved to have the friendliest group of Officers. The Captain was outstanding and so available every day to speak with passengers. His sense of humor was the best. The indoor pool was great. The indoor pool on the Celebrity Infinity is better because of the four massaging spouts at each of the corners of the pool as well as both sides of their pool had a bubbly place to lay and feel like you were getting a personal massage while laying in the water. The elegance of this ship is unmistakable. The Aqua Class restaurant Blu was outstanding and wonderful as always. We are Elite with Celebrity so there was the highly complimentary drinks from 5 to 7. This cruise we were given vouchers instead of having to meet in a particular lounge, which was enjoyable as we were able to try out other bars and lounges with our vouchers as opposed to having to go to one place and stay there to drink. We enjoy having the flexibility of drinking in different places on the ship so this worked out perfect for us. Two night we enjoyed the sunset bar at the very back of the ship, just at sunset, which was stunning. It was so quiet and peaceful we felt almost like we were on our own private huge yacht just for us! Celebrity really knows how to consistently have outstanding food, great service, with an elegance that is unbeatable. We had cruised for two decades with Princess and always enjoyed that immensely. A few years ago, we ended up going on a Celebrity cruise as a last minute decision to get away during a winter month and fell in love with Celebrity. In just a couple of years with all our cruises, we made Elite status which took us years to obtain with Princess. Celebrity has a knack for knowing their clientele and creating activities based on knowing its passengers.

We were not impressed at all with the future cruise sales team. They seemed like it was their first day working for Celebrity. I knew more about information for future cruise booking than they did. That was sad. They could not get our future cruise booking correct. It took them five times to get it right, finally. Too much of my vacation my spent calling them, going down to their office and explaining to them what was not right about the bookings. This was unacceptable and Celebrity needs to get this fixed right away.

We sailed this transatlantic as a second part to a back to back cruise. The cruise before this was a 14 night cruise that sailed to Croatia, Corfu, Sicility, Montenegro, Venice, Rome, and several other ports. The transatlantic sailed from Rome, to Barcelona, the Canary Islands and ended in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This was great to be able to get the long transatlantic flight out of the way at the beginning of the trip and then sail leisurely home to the USA. This meant we only had a 2 hours non-stop flight from Fort Lauderdale back to home. That part made the trip even more wonderful!

Cabin Review

Our aqua class cabin was adequate. We used to always get a mini-suite with Princess or better and we are used to the extra space. The aqua class cabins are the same size as a regular balcony cabin, which to us is small, but you get access to the Persian Gardens as well as access to a special restaurant called Blu. Blu is worth the extra cost as it is like dining in a speciality restaurant every night of your cruise. The Persian Gardens is always relaxing unless there are loud rude people in their that do not understand that this is a quiet area and not a conversation area. There were several times, the Celebrity staff had to ask people to not talk loud. They even put up signs but I guess if people are going to rude and loud they are not going to read a sign that ask them to be quiet. This is something I will never understand about passengers. They have the rest of the ship to talk but they choose one of the few areas of the ship where they just cannot keep their mouths closed. Luckily most of the passengers were into the quiet area so the area was quiet more than it was loud. The view from the Persian Gardens is amazing. Floor to ceiling windows for a stunning view from the hot stone beds as well as the other sauna rooms. The Blue restaurant Manager was the best we have ever had. He was always accommodating and went out of his way to make my parents always feel special as well as us each and every night. It was remarkable. After 28 nights on the ship, we never got tired of going to Blu. If you can afford aqua class, it is money well spent to make your vacation more special than you can imagine possible.
