  3. Carnival Ecstasy

For a long time, I debated posting this but decided to go ahead.

Despite the Cruise Critic review, the Ecstasy was disappointing. We had looked forward to the evening sushi bar because we enjoyed the sushi on our first Carnival cruise (Glory). While the Ecstasy deck plans onboard still show a sushi bar, it has been replaced with a "tastings" station.

In the past, we've booked cabins with balconies but decided to experience the view at water level (Riviera deck). Sadly, condensation between the panes of glass entirely obscured the view.

There was a persistent smell of sewage in the fourth-deck hallway.

And the service in the dining rooms was inconsistent at best. After one meal enduring the self-centered "showmanship" of the head waiter (his claim to fame seems to be a long Spanish trill), we asked to be seated on the opposite side of the dining room.

Disappointing
