What a great week we had on the Breeze. We took an aft balcony which I don't think we'd do again. The room was a nice size, with plenty of room to store all our clothes and goodies, but the balcony was not very private because of the shape of the aft of the ship, the wall left a lot of room for neighbours. Thankfully, we had great neighbours who were never on their balconies when we were, or were very quiet. Our neighbours 2 decks above us on the other hand, made sure everyone could hear their conversations. Regardless, it was a beautiful week. Our steward, Bonnie, was just incredible and bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and had all that we needed while on board. The food was great! Spent most of the week at the Blue Igauna stuffing our faces with burritos. Guy's burger joint was good, but a little on the greasy side and couldn't handle it more than twice in the 8 days on board. The staff in the dining room were phenomenal, and we just found in general that the service was amazing compared to our last Carnival cruise. Not so say that the last one was bad, but this was exceptionally good and beyond our expectations.

We only booked one excursion through Carnival, and the other two privately. In Aruba, we booked the Kuku Kanuku bus tour and had an absolute blast with Carlos and our maracas. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some silly fun and beach time along the way. Booked with Seavis Tours in La Romana and can honestly say that this was one of the highlights for everyone in the family with a Dominican bbq, some kayaking on the Chavon river, plenty o' rum, and an informative walking trail to see the different vegetation and wildlife. Robert was a great guide, and we'd book with them again in a heartbeat. Curacao was a bit of a different story, but it was due to a lack of communication. We booked an excursion with Curacao-Actief, but when arriving at the port, we were unable to find our group. Unfortunately, we missed our excursion, and having great difficulty trying to contact the company (4 public phones that didn't work, and no cell service for us, information desk had no idea who we were talking about). I was able to contact the owner upon our return, who did refund us for the excursion and explained that they had not had this problem in 7 years, however, it was realized that directions were never emailed to us. I was a little surprised that they were keeping 25$ out of what we paid them, but felt that I'd rather receive 180$ and forget the 25$. I do believe that he was genuine from what I had read both on Cruise Critic and Tripadvisor prior to booking with them, but did find it a little cocky that they would even keep the 25$ considering the fault was on their side. Lesson learned.

Food was good, both in the dining room and on Lido deck. Our son was happy to be hanging out at Circle C for the majority of the week and made some great friends.

Cabin Review

Personally would not book an aft balcony again on this ship. Didn't feel there was much privacy and any extra space was more leg room than anything else. Back to mid-ship we go!
