Latin Gems/Tropical Treasures

Sail Date: March 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Barbados
Well what a difference 2 years makes in my opinion no way is this a platinum ship

We noticed the subtle changes that had been made in order to claw back more profit.

MDR you now have to ask for toast no one topping your tea or juice up unless you ask people might say that is nick picking and i could go in the self service but last time going in the MDR for breakfast was great .On a night the sizes of portions had shrunk also if you had purchased the AI drinks package not enough wine waiters to keep you topped up ,some of the food was not 5 star no steak unless you pay .Not enough staff in the MDR

Marks out of 10 for food 5

Think we may have been spoilt last time as the shows and artist where not to the standard of other cruises with Thomson that we have been on the whole program of event time did not work out very well some times nothing on even some shows cancelled.

The ship in places was still looking dower and in certain floors there was More a strong smell of the toilets.

After all i have said i must admit i don't think you would find a better and friendlier crew than Thomson and some great friendly passengers.

IMO i do believe the dress code has to be adhered to better if people dont want to the use the self service.

Everyone's nightmare SUNBEDS on sea days you need to get up early first day 7-30 only just got one loads of space where they could put more sports deck for one rear of ship even though you might not get the sun there all day Yes they had crew members going round putting notes on 45 min then you lost your sunbed but some selfish passages saved then for there friends and moved the notes .

Passengers where left to lay on the floor this can not be right and i mean loads of passengers not just one or two.

Second sea day 7-15 nearly all beds gone

Apart from getting more beds don't know what the answer is maybe they cannot because of storage maybe the beds should be allocated four hours per cabin that way everyone gets a bed for half a sea day.

Dont think we will be going on Thomson for a few years again unless they get back to the standards they used to have and get away from the Butlins on water

PS we did have a good time and the ports we visited where excellent just not to the standard we had before. Less
