I have sailed on about 15 different cruises on several different lines. This was the second Carnival, and will definitely be the last. The remodeled ship is dark and dingy, all the dark wood and dark colors are depressing. The common areas, are all in the same drab colors. For a newly refurbished ship, I found it dirty. The Lido deck smoking area was always filthy, with dirty tables 24/7. ashtrays never emptied, unless by the guest, and dishes never removed. The deck itself was so sticky, I wouldn't go barefooted to even sunbathe! Being in a w/c I found the buffet is not really w/c accessible. You can't see the food very well, nor reach the cups or silverware. The seating areas in the buffet were also non w/c accessible as they were all wound around in weird patterns. No one ever offered you a refill for juice or coffee either, and only one time did anyone offer to carry my food to a table. The service was terrible. I was denied ability to disembark in Belize due to my wheelchair, and the tender. I have never heard of this before! My w/c was always carried and I was assisted on to the tender by the staff on every other cruise line I have ever been on. I made several complaints on the cabin status to the guest services and was rudely treated. When I booked through Carnival I asked if I needed a w/c accessible cabin because I am using a scooter and was told that I did not, Found out that the scooter only fit into the cabin door by scraping both the door and the scooter every time in and out. Also scraping the closet doors and damaging the walls inside the cabin. When I complained the first time to guest relations they said they couldn't help me ( the steward said they had 50 empty higher grade cabins). When I fell getting into the shower and cut my foot, bruised my hip and arm, and complained again, I was again blown off and was basically told "too bad". I tried going to the shows but they were old and boring. They didn't even have live music on the lido deck!! The smoking area in the casino consisted of 18 slot machines so there was always a line. Overall the staff is unfriendly, ship is ugly and dirty, entertainment is lousy, and food was horrible. No more Carnival for me!!!
