This was 7th Carnival ship that we have sailed on. The Breeze by far has been the most pleasant. The ship is very clean and orderly. This was our first 8 day cruise. I must say that I didn't care that much for the last two sea days. By Sunday I was really ready to step on dry land.
The ports were so-so. We were not impressed with Turks and Caicos. The beach was right off the ship and ended up being very crowed really fast. La Romona DR was awful. They need to scratch this port completely off the list. We took the miniature cho-cho train downtown only to find locals trying to sell t-shirts at $20.00 each (seriously). The locals weren't that friendly and overall it was not a good port at all. Curaçao was nice. However, we got there in the afternoon and all the shops closed around 6:30-7:00. The ship left at around 11pm so it wasn't much to do after all the shops had closed. They probably would have made a good profit on sells because most of the people I spoke with hadn't finished shopping before the stores closed. Aruba was great. Beautiful beaches and some good shopping. I wish we could have stayed there until 11pm. Didn't get to do that much due to the really long 2 hour island tours. We have decided to come back in August and stay a week to really explore the island.
The food on board food was a little different but overall the same. The dining room menu needs a major overhaul. It's the exact same menu on all the carnival ships and it's just awful. There are only so many times I can look at those same menus with the same food. The Lido isn't that much better, but it beats the dining room any day. Other than that, everything else was ok. We are headed back on the Breeze for spring break in April with the kids. I think they will really enjoy the water park. I will say that it's a very kid friendly ship. Hope this helps. Sail On!
