It had been awhile since my last cruise on Holland America. It was my daughter's first cruise and she was excited and looking forward to it. Boarding went fairly quickly with no problems. We then went to the Windjammer for some lunch. It was packed with people and just getting in and finding a table was quite an ordeal. The food was just not very good! I hoped that would improve, but it never did! We finally got in our room around 1:30 that afternoon. We dined at the My fair lady that evening. Our waiter was friendly and helpful explaining the dinner selections. The food was good....not excellent! (with the exception of breakfast, it was awful!) The one thing that annoyed me was if you wanted a soda, bottled water etc. you had to pay for it! I think that should be included in the costs.

We didn't purchase the beverage package, or the alcohol package, because it was expensive, and neither my daughter or myself, drink much soda or alcohol. They had a soft serve ice cream machine, but it was always broke down. Coco Cay was very nice and they had a barbecue lunch that wasn't bad . They really pushed the drinks on the island and around the pool area. That got annoying! Nassau was rather "grungy"

I would have rather spent another day on Coco Cay! Our stateroom was fine and our attendant was very friendly. One other thing I failed to mention. The first day in the Windjammer buffet, there was water on the floor and my daughter slipped in it and fell to the floor hurting her hip/back & knee. The restaurant manager came over to our table and took her information and said that someone would be following up on her status, but nobody ever did! She was pretty sore the rest of the trip, but sucked it up as she was enjoying the cruise. The last thing I want to comment on is the entertainment. I thought it was pretty good. The cruise directors did a excellent job! I think we will try Disney for our next cruise.
