After over a hundred cruises, I am sorry to say that the Carribean Princess was not a good choice...the worst aspect of the cruise was the dirty cabin which spoiled the cruise because I never felt comfortable because of the housekeeping staff having a lack of pride to take care of the ship. The bathroom tile had black mold growing on it, the cabin walls and pictures had soda and champagne spray on them, carpet adhasive was slopped on the balcony door frame from the last time the carpet was replaced, the towels were frayed and thin and the stained bed sheets and burn hole in the blanket didn't do much to improve my feelings about this mini-suite on the Dophin Deck. The balcony was a complete waste of money as it too had filthy furniture and salt covered windows, none of which was touched the entire cruise...quite frankly, Carnival does a much better cleaning job, in fact the Carnival Liberty was beside us in Cozumel and they hosed off every balcony and cleaned all the windows, railing glass, and furniture plus a lot of touchup painting on the hull. Our ship sat untouched on the exterior in all three ports.

Fortunately, our cruise was lucky enough to avoid the fog and norovirus problems that have been happening out of Houston's Bayport lately.

The food and dining service were good on this cruise, the Horizon Court (buffet) was especially good for both breakfast and lunch, but the Crown Grille food and service was just average.

Cabin Review

Cabin was not clean, black mold growing on bathroom tile, soda and champagne splatters on walls and pictures, balcony furniture and windows very dirty and covered with salt spray which wasn't touched the whole cruise. The frayed thin towels, stained bed sheets and blanket with a burn hole don't belong on a nice cruise ship.
