Best Cruise Ever

Sail Date: February 2014
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: San Juan
This was our second cruise with RCL and our ninth altogether.  Embarkation was a breeze, only taking about 20 minutes to get through security, check in and get our sail and sign cards.

After boarding we headed up to the Windjammer for lunch. As always there was a good selection of dishes to choose from.My favourite is the " Fresh from the garden" station.Love the way there are separate stations instead of one long buffet line!

Our stateroom was clean and fresh, kept that way by Werner, our cabin steward.

All the luggage arrived in no time and after unpacking we set off to explore the ship.We found that this ship felt spacious even though it was sailing with all cabins occupied. We never had a problem finding a seat for breakfast or lunch.

We had late seating in the Tides dining room and enjoyed the attentions of our two waiters, especially the assistant,Ed.Our wine package was delivered promptly each evening. The only fault we could find with the More food was that it could have been hotter.

The entertainment was great and we had the best cruise director ever, Dennis Charles. That man had so much energy and was assisted by an awesome team. The entertainers were great too and there were two very good comedians who managed to keep us laughing without any crudity or profanity at all.

We enjoyed all the ports of call with the exception of Martinique.Best thing to do there would be take the water taxi and go to the beach because the town doesn't have anything worth looking at.Very tacky and dirty altogether.

We did three excursions from the ship and they were all enjoyable.

St.Thomas...took the ferry over to St.John and then taxied to Trunk Bay.Gorgeous clean beach and a marked snorkeling trail.

Antigua..did 4x4 trip around the island with "big John" and had a quick beach stop there too.

St.Lucia was the highlight of the trip because we went ziplining and it was awesome.

In St.Croix we did our own thing and took the shuttle from the port to Christiansted where we explored the fort.Unfortunately it was President's day so a lot of the stores were closed but we did get into the fort free!

Our last day was at sea and there was still a lot to do and a final show in the evening. We also enjoyed the movie theatre a couple of times. It was like having a private showing with a few friends.

The cruise came to an end far too quickly and we will definitely sail with RCL again. Less

Cabin review: 9052

Roomy cabin with good storage.Suitcases fit under the bed easily.Lots of hanging space.Great having shower doors instead of curtain.Sliding glass door is so much better than a heavy door.
