Great cruise! We will be doing this cruise again next year on the Pearl, which is switching places with the Sun and will have new ports. The Sun is a small ship and doesn't have most of the amenities we were accustomed to having on Carnival and the other ships we've sailed on with Norwegian. There are only 3 channels worth watching on the TV, 2 of them are movie channels which show the same movies over and over and over again, ugghhh. You cannot access your onboard account or order movies on the TV. We liked some things about this ship though. The stateroom walls and door are thick and block out most all of the noise outside the cabin allowing for a good nights sleep. This ship is not crowded in comparison to most of the ships we've been on.

This is our 13th cruise and my wife and I agree that it was the best ever. This was our 3rd aboard Norwegian, we've taken 10 with Carnival. There are some real differences between the two cruise lines. Norwegian has a hard time with some of the simple things, but they do better than Carnival in other areas. The food aboard the Sun was very good, but their variety and selection is boring and too limited. It's probably an intentional effort to bore you into doing the expensive specialty restaurants of which there are 5. We only did the Japanese one and were very disappointed, so we didn't visit the others. It took 46 minutes from the time we sat down to get a drink in this restaurant, but the food was okay. For us the most entertaining place on the ship was the casino. The slots are fair, unlike the ones on Carnival ships. Carnival makes a point of taking all your money in the casino and giving nothing back, that's the main reason we are sailing with Norwegian again. The casino staff knew our names after the first night and we did very well playing the slots. We spent 2-3 hours a day in the casino for the 11 days and didn't lose a dime. In the casino they have a nightly lotto called Paradise. they will be trying to sell you tickets for $2 for a chance to win $650,000. I hit 3 of the 5 numbers the last night, which awards $100; however I didn't get my money. The casino staff told me that I could claim my winnings at guest services the last morning of the cruise, since we crashed before the 11:10 drawing the last night, but guest services said that I was to e-mail the lotto company at the e-mail on the ticket and I would be sent a check. They still haven't answered my e-mail.

The ports....Curacao, pronounced curassow, is the best of them. It's the happy island and everyone was very welcoming! The prices here are incredibly low. We bought tons of clothes, at prices less than 1/2 of what it would have been in the states, at the boutiques that line the streets. The moving pedestrian bridge that splits the city is awesome!! It moves sideways to allow boats through rather than acting like a draw bridge. The slave museum is a must do, but the walking tour we did through Norwegian was a bit boring.

Cabin Review

We loved this room!!! Best value and location on the ship for an inside stateroom.
