We just got back from the Feb 16, 2014 sailing of the Legend. This was the ship’s first sailing after a two week dry-dock upgrade.

I traveled with my wife and two girls, ages 12 and 15. We have been on two previous cruises (Carnival Fantasy and Celebrity Eclipse).

In Tampa, we stayed at the Quality Inn and Suites (not to be confused with the Quality Inn). We were surprised to find that it had no airport shuttle, so we paid $35 for a cab. The hotel was decent, though, and the price included cruise transfers and the standard lobby breakfast.

Cabin Review

Our staterooms (7112 and 7108) were very nice adjacent rooms. We got the crew to open the balcony door so we shared a single balcony. We noticed that 7108 actually connects with the next-forward room (7106), which does not have a balcony. We suspect we could have gotten 7106 room at a lower rate than 7112, so we would have had a connecting pair, with our kids being in the non-balcony room. When we booked, we were not made aware of this room being available since it was in a different class than ours. Live and learn. The downside to the connecting room is that we only had a single chair instead of a couch, since the connecting door had to be kept accessible.
