We chose this vacation as a 35th wedding anniversary special celebration. It was just the two of us and we booked a mini suite w/balcony on Deck 11, aft-facing. We loved it. One of the nicest parts of our week was sitting out on the balcony together every morning, sail away from each port an often times late at night. Couldn't have been more beautiful.

We arrived in New Orleans on Saturday and stayed at the Sheraton New Orleans. We had dinner that evening at a restaurant called Jacques Imo's. I highly recommend it. Get there early (5:00pm) if you don't want to wait and be sure to try the Alligator Cheese Cake! Great authentic Nawlins' food. We went to the French Market and stopped at Café du Monde, walked up and down Bourbon Street and listened to some great blues music. Sunday morning went smoothly. We left the hotel at noon and were on the ship by 1:30 exploring and heading to our stateroom. The crew and officers were very friendly and helpful and were a visible presence throughout the week. We'd see them in the dining rooms, on the decks. They came to our meet & greet and introduced themselves and made it clear that we should contact them with concerns or requests. Our room was spacious with plenty of closet and drawer space. Large bathroom with tub and shower, vanity area and a toilet that could be sectioned off for privacy. We were given beach towels that would be exchanged each day as needed. The bed was comfortable and there was a safe and a mini frig in the room. And that balcony! It was so nice to be able to step outside, sit with a coffee or a cold drink and just take it all in. We only ate in specialty restaurants two evenings. Once at Moderno and once at Cagney's. Both were excellent. Otherwise, we enjoyed breakfast at the buffet where the food was clean and fresh and dinners at Tsar's where we enjoyed full service and entree's nicely presented.

We had excursions booked at every port (Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, Costa Maya) so the days were filled with exciting adventures. We did Atlantis Sub, Barrier Reef Snorkel & Beach Day, Club Natale in Roatan (amazing), and in Costa Maya we got crazy and rented a golf cart for the day and just ran around Costa Maya. We stopped at a cute beach cabana place and had a lobster lunch, listened to music, and did some shopping. Just laid back and fun. We saw a couple of the shows in the Starlight Theater (great shows), spent some time in the casino (just for fun) and enjoyed spending some time in the Martini Bar,the Beer Bar, the Java Café, Spinnaker's Lounge, Fyzz and others. The week included a big SuperBowl party on the big screen and we also saw the opening ceremonies of the Olympics on the ship. Too much fun, could go on and on. We had dream week. Thank you Norwegian...we will definitely be back!

Cabin Review

Fantastic room. Balcony made it spectacular. Spacious room with plenty of closet and drawer space. Comfortable bed. Loved the towel animals, especiallythe monkey hanging from the ceiling! Mornings and evenings on the balcony were a slice of heaven.
