Emerald Princess Cruise Review by Cruises-R-Us
- Sail Date: February 2014
- Destination: Southern Caribbean
Our Riviera deck balcony stateroom was ready, so we dropped off our carry-on luggage and met our gracious room steward Supatra. We enjoyed doing the "treasure hunt", getting stamps at various venues, toured the gym and spa, and finally stopped for a bite of lunch in Horizon Court. Sailaway was right on time and fun as always.
Our ports included Princess Cays, St. Thomas, Dominica, Grenada, Bonaire and Aruba. We were fortunate to have calm seas and sunny weather almost the entire trip and truly relaxed and celebrated being in the Caribbean. The crew was excellent all around, no matter which duty they performed. We ate at various times in different dining venues and always found delicious choices, whether it was a formal dining room, buffet or specialty restaurant. We particularly like to check in at the International Cafe throughout the day to see what fun new food they're offering or to enjoy a latte. The staff is always efficient and prompt.
It's fun and interesting to us to meet new people by sharing a dining table, learn where they're from and hear their stories and experiences. Same with the crew, who come from all over the world.
Lots of excellent movies were offered through Movies Under the Stars and through the in-room television. Although there was a lot of variety of other entertainment, we didn't take advantage of too much of it. We like to explore the various islands when we're in port and do a lot of walking, so aren't particularly looking to be entertained all evening. Clearly others enjoy it though, so glad Princess offers many options. We sincerely appreciate the internet access we received gratis as platinum members, as we needed to keep in touch with our business periodically.
Disembarkation was a breeze, nice and quiet, efficient, well-organized and quick. Can't wait to go on another Princess cruise!
