Our February 7th embarkation insured we would be on the high seas for both Valentines Day and a family birthday. Just perfect timing for our romantic vacation, and Princess did not disappoint. Oh, there were some annoyances such as some employees in the embarkation terminal and slow snaking lines. And too, disembarkation was confusing with mixed colors and unhelpful personnel, but onboard, the cruise was marvelous.
The dining room service and food were excellent. Not every dish was perfect, but it did not matter. So much of the food was terrific and the service was lovely too. We are experienced cruisers, with over 40 cruises under our belt - and this Caribbean cruise ranks with the best of them.
We've visited all the ports before, but this time took the ship's tour to St. John rather than just going into St. Thomas. The ferry ride in both directions was beautiful and interesting. The land tour was nothing special - just view points. Our ship's tour of Granada was fine - we had never been into the interior of the island before. The other stops we just walked around the towns, and that was fine too. The main attraction was the beautiful ship, with many areas to relax in, and good food constantly available. Oh, the pizza was as good as our local Italian pizzaria - that is a real compliment, as most cruise ship pizza is more like the frozen variety.
