This was our first time on the Serenade, and having been with RCI before, we knew it would be good, and we weren't disappointed.
The check-in procedure was not good though, the New Orleans depot was small, and very crowded... and I couldn't believe it! As we disembarked, at 9.30am - there were people queuing up to get on the next cruise!!!! REALLY????? Come on people, you have to be sensible about this... anyway -
The mid-size ship was perfect for us, we met and mingled with lots of new friends and were thoroughly spoiled by the fabulous staff. We ate in the Windjammer and the main dining room, which were both excellent. The food was hot, tasty and a great variety of choices. We didn't go for the paid dining, as we didn't see the point! The steak you could order in the main dining room was from the "Chops" grille, and was excellent... so why pay extra?
