Sailed the Getaway's sister ship in October; this was my second cruise with NCL. After having sailed with several other cruise lines, I now consider myself an NCL fan. I have officially come to love the concept of "free style" cruising. NCL's diverse offering in terms of entertainment (Broadway quality shows, great music) and an abundance of activities (ropes course, water slides, mini-golf) is right up our family's alley. The food choices are brilliant: semi casual if you wish (Tropicana Room), easy buffet style for a quick snack (Flamingo Grill), slightly more planned formal at a nominal fee (our favorites are Teppanyaki & Moderno), and all at a time of your choice, that seamlessly works with whatever entertainment selection you make for the day/evening. The ship is well laid out with plenty of opportunities for 'quiet time' or to "get social". The staff is eager to please and on this sailing there were a lot of NCL HQ staff to ensure any potential concerns were addressed right away. This ship is a winner and I can't wait to sail on her again!
Entertainment
We loved Burn the Floor (incredible dancers), Legally Blonde (fabulous performers, great choreography, lighting & costumes), Howl at the Moon (seriously talented), the Illusionarium (unexpectedly impressive) and the Wine Lovers Musical (refreshing). Word of caution: the Welcome On Board Show unfortunately does not really represent the actual quality of any of the shows.
Loved our cabin. The beds are super comfortable, plenty of storage and the shower a nice size. It is functional (suitcases fit underneath the bed, yay!). Yes the balcony is small, but you have an entire ship with a huge "balcony" at your disposal :D.
