This is our second time on the Dream. Last time was April 2013. Embarkation was smooth. This time we had a room in the front of the ship with a window and view of the deck. Last time we had a balcony. the balcony last time was a much nicer room, and bigger. It was hard getting used to the smaller room. We rarely saw our steward this time, also. She kept the room clean, but we had to leave the ice bucket out if we needed ice. Also, the shows on the ship were the same as the first time we were on it, which was disappointing. I thought that since they had a different cruise director, they would have changed the shows. At least the comedians were different than last time. Last time we did eastern Caribbean, this time was western Caribbean. I liked the eastern better. I found the people in Cozumel to be over pushy trying to make sales. Belize was nice, we went on a mayan ruins tour with lunch. Roatan was very disappointing. We had looked forward to going to the beach at Mahogany Bay for months. The ship could not dock there because of supposed winds, so we went to the Port of Roatan. There was no beach in site, and the same old shops. We went to the straw market which didn't expect us so didn't have much open, and a teenage local boy followed us everywhere till we gave him money. We could not get rid of him. He was nice enough, but we weren't really shopping. I felt pushed to leave the shops because of him. It was announced that we could take a taxi to Mahogany Bay at $20-$25 a person, we didn't have enough cash left over to do that, and we heard some horror stories about the taxis later. I got sick on Thursday, missing Costa Maya, I'm presuming I had that norovirus that goes around ships, even though we weren't warned about it. I've heard since the cruise that a number of people were sick. Also, my husband caught a cold on the ship which he gave to me.

Other than that, the food was good. We had Your Time Dining, but we always requested Reynaldo in the Crimson dining room. He was really good and always knew what we wanted. He and his staff were really the only outstanding crewmembers that I encountered.

I think that next time I'll consider one of the other ships or cruiselines. Guess it's not good to take the same ship twice.

Cabin Review

Smaller than the last two cabins we had. Cramped, but with a window.
