Did a solo cruise on the sunshine January 2014. I had a forward balcony on the 8th floor and it was perfect. Short walk upstairs to Lido, or short walk downstairs to the shops and casino and other activities. The only thing that felt far away was the dining room. Speaking of the dining room-it was too small to accommodate my request for early dining, which was disappointing but not the end of the world. Until they assigned me a table by myself. My first experience in the MDR was pretty awful. I had to wait for almost 10 minutes before someone acknowledged me to show me to my table. Then it was another 5 minutes before I got water and a menu. None of the staff seemed very happy. Luckily a group of ladies adopted me, and it was fantastic from then on. The other issue was the timing of evening entertainment. If you had late dining you were at dinner until at least 10pm, which made it tough to go to shows. I was really disappointed that you had to stand in line to go to a show. Who wants to spend their vacation in line?

Some reviews i have read mentioned a smell or the boat seeming old but it seemed in great shape to me ands I never noticed a smell. They did an AMAZING job with Serenity. Every Srenity deck should have its own pool that isn't overrun by children. The steak restaurant was phenomenal; I highly recommend it. The burrito bar was awesome but had such limited hours and there was always a long wait.

One last observation were the smoking areas. They had one small "approved" section outside on deck 10, and the casino inside. Outside they wouldn't give anyone ashtrays and just expected everyone to sit on these benches next to a tower ashtray. Instead people either used cups or ashed and then tossed the butts right on the deck.
