What a wonderful time on a wonderful ship. A cruise is the best value for your vacation dollar. The Splendour of the Seas is well kept, the paint is fresh, the carpets are clean, the staterooms are spotless and the brass is polished. This was our second cruise and if you want a resort vacation experience without paying resort prices then Royal Caribbean is well worth it. Boarding at Galveston was painless, much more pleasant then going through security at an airport. We arrived 11am, boarded promptly and then explored the ship. I found the ship very well laid out and easy to get around.

My wife and I had a balcony stateroom which was wonderful. The bedding has been upgraded to include high thread count sheets, euro sham pillows and a duvet cover for the bed. The bedding and comfort was 5 star. I would recommend that if one wants a balcony stateroom you should compare sailing dates to the lunar calendar for moon brightness. I didn't and realize what a great opportunity I missed. We had no moon or quarter moon night skies. A half moon or full moon period would have made the view from the balcony wonderful and very romantic.

The food in the main dining room was great. The wait staff was very attentive. Again a 5 star experience.
