They have made a lot of improvements on the island, every time we go it gets better, but they are still building, the buffet area and pavilion are much better than they used to be. We rented a cabana and it was wonderful, the service was outstanding, we wanted for nothing, but I would warn others. You get a $50 credit to use on food or drink or whatever....I would think carefully before using it for food. We were a group of 10, it cost around $350 for the day. They brought us extra lounge chairs and there was plenty of room for everyone without a problem at all. We used the credit to purchase some meat and cheese appetizer plates. On the order sheet it said each plate served 2, so we thought perfect just a little snack for everyone...holy cow!! First we had a water for each person, great. We had a fresh fruit bowl in the fridge and they said they would refill that all day and they did. They also served tortilla chips and salsa and said they would refill them all day, which they did....great, that would work with our other items since they only served 2. Then it arrived at noon: There was so much food: 2 plates of each of the following:, meats, cheese, hummus, artichoke hears, cornichons, arugula salad, rolls...this was no snack and fed way more than 2 persons...it was actually rather ridiculous of them to say this fed 2 people, no way. There wasn't even enough room on our table to hold all of the food, we had to put some of it in the fridge. What we got was enough to feed 10 people as a meal and we were forcing ourselves not to waste it, but the lunch buffet was there as well and people wanted to enjoy that too. Toward the end of the day the ants overtook it, but we made as much of a dent in it as possible. I would just say understand that they give you alot of food when you order off that cabana menu. With the water, fruit, chips and salsa, there is plenty to snack on if you are going to eat the buffet lunch, more than enough. If you are a person who doesn't care for the buffet, I would recommend the cabana menu, however only order one, it says it serves 2, but it serves a family. One of the best things about the buffet is the fresh coconut they serve, it is delicious and a perfect snack on the beach. We look forward to it every time and I think this is the only place we see it available so we make the most of it.

Great Stirrup Cay

The cabin is fine, actually for the inside cabins, there is actually more room when the beds are split into singles. This doesn't help couples much. There are no extras in the bathrooms and we were provided robes when we requested them, they were nice and everything was in good condition.

One morning my mother ordered an omelet and the server said it would take 45 minutes because there was only 1 omelet chef....We had one server for everything, in the past there was a beverage server.
