An uneven cruise

Sail Date: January 2014
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore
Having been on numerous cruises, this was a disappointment in many ways. Although this is one of the lines older ships that had undergone extensive renovations, I was expecting more.

Much has been done to the public areas yet little has been done to the rooms. Our room was well maintained and clean yet the mattress did not appear to be sitting on box spring which made getting up from the bed difficult. The embarkation was very smooth yet since the cabins were not ready for use, almost everyone was crowded into the Windjammer Café on deck 9. The crew did their jobs well yet did not go beyond what one would expect. We took an excursion in Nassau and were assured that a van with a lift would be at the ship. It was not an the van was found approximately five blocks away. The Centrum is being used more extensively, yet seating in this area is very limited. The food and the service were good, even if somewhat uneven. Many times, a good film was shown yet it was frequently More outside rather than in the theatre. In spite the things noted. we found this to have been an enjoyable vacation. Less
