Overall we were very pleased with our cruise. The food, service, cabin, and entertainment were great. We also enjoyed meeting some new friends with whom we are continuing to correspond.

This was our third cruise, and second time with Carnival and the Triumph. There was a very short scare when the power went out for about an hour on Friday, but the very knowledgeable people they had on staff put everything back together quickly. Jen, the cruise social director, did a good job keeping everyone calm. This is something that could happen on any ship. Yes, the Triumph had a really bad power loss last year, and lots of people suffered, but it looks like things are back in shape and better than before. We enjoyed having a balcony for the first time, too.

We stopped at Progreso on Wednesday. We were not expecting much there, but were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed a great and very affordable 1 hr. massage on the beach, which came with a table, chairs, and umbrella on the beach, and shot of tequila each! There was also very affordable food and beverages, with no sickness afterwards. Just don't over imbibe, which is my tendency! The weather was great, the water and beach were clean, and the service was good, too. We weren't in the market for shopping this time, since I'd lived in Mexico for many years, and have all that I want right now, but the beach warmth and relaxation was right what we needed. Cozumel was nice, as it always is, but we've been there many times, and have already done most of the activities. So there, we mostly just enjoyed the sun by the pool, with the music, reading good books, eating good food, and watching the ice carving.
