This was the CTN on Superbowl weekend. The Getaway was in the berth beside us, which may have hampered embarkation. In addition, NCL's phone and e-mail blitz advising to arrive early may have caused the deluge of people early on 1/31. Arriving around 10:30, we didn't board the ship until after 1:30. Places to get a bite to eat were swamped onboard.

Cabin was very tight. Our bed was up against the sliding glass door. There were no hangers in the room. The balcony was very, very small. There were two towels, two hand towels, and one washcloth. There was no top sheet, no towel animals, no turn-down, no chocolate, no robes. Not what I have come to expect from Norwegian.  There were no hangers in our room. A call to housekeeping was met by a constant busy signal. Finally three hours later we grabbed a steward walking in the hallway. She didn't believe us and had to go into the room to look.

The staff were "coldly polite." It was nearly impossible to get a reservation at ANY specialty restaurant. We finally got one at LaCucina and when we arrived at 9:30, it was basically empty. The dining room staff told one member of our party they couldn't accommodate 12 people, and another that 12 would be fine. The four hot tubs were occupied by beer bucket groups so there was no chance to take a dip. We spent approximately 2 hours a day being served lunch and an average of 3 for dinner. The balconies are teeny, tiny. Love, love, love Norwegian, but the Breakaway is more like a cosmopolitan hotel rather than a floating resort.
