Sail Date: Jan 2014

Previous cruises ~ Carnival Liberty, Dream, Breeze and most recently the Splendor.

We have also for comparison sailed with Holland America, Royal and Oceania.

Simply stating, the ship is in poor repair, dirty and soiled seating particularly at the Lido Buffet benches and chairs. I have never encountered this on any previous Carnival ship or above mentioned cruise lines. Hand sanitizing stations are inconsequential and not enforced ~ often empty. Suffice to say, my husband and I dispute sanitizing became ill on the 4th day of cruise. On one particular breakfast, a waiter actually openly coughed right over our table without making an attempt to cover his mouth. Smoking is absolutely seen and smelled everywhere on this ship. No designated areas were enforced. We paid a lot of money for a Spa Cabin with Spa amenities to the therapeutic bath and steam rooms as we have done on previous Carnival ship. On this ship, the steam rooms were dirty with tiles falling, chipped or missing. The thalassol therapy pool was also in disrepair with grates missing, broken, lukewarm temp worst being scum and body oils evident daily. For hygienic reasons we did not partake in our Spa Cabin amenities which we paid dearly for and was the basis of our vacation and cabin selection .

Cabin Review

One favorite cabin fixture we always enjoyed was the Carnival mattresses. I don't know what happened in our cabin but our mattresses were not the quality we experienced on other Carnival ships but rather felt like a cot mattress ~ thin and very hard. Cabin is worn and distasteful décor.
