Sail Date: Jan 2014

Let me preface by stating that I normally do not write reviews, however, I feel that the NCL Sky deserves one. This was my 4th cruise. I have sailed on the Carnival Imagination (an older ship), Carnival Magic, and Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas in the past and had nothing to complain about.

This was my first NCL cruise; we booked it very last minute. (Booked 11pm Sunday night, departed 4pm Monday). Boarding the ship was easy however not nearly as welcoming as every other cruise I've been on. There was music playing, a person swiping key cards, and a man with hand sanitizer. Nobody greeting us, and no one to direct us where to go. Every cruise I have ever been on had boat loads of crew members greeting passengers as they were boarding the ship, this ship failed to make us feel "welcomed aboard."

Alright, I'm over it, maybe it wasn't a great first impression, but the rest of the cruise can't be like that right? Wrong!!!

Cabin Review

The Room- Booking last minute only gave us the opportunity for an inside cabin, which was fine, we are only there to sleep. There were three of us sharing one cabin, two beds should have been pushed together with the third from the wall. We called to have the beds pushed together but that didn't happen until day 2 of the cruise. We pushed the beds together ourselves for the first night. The room looked like it hadn't been updated since the ship was first built. Furniture was falling apart, carpet corners looked like they had never seen a vacuum, and unfortunately we had to move the "couch" to maneuver around the room better... let's just say that couch had been there for about 15 years without moving an inch. Our bathroom was clean, but once again not updated at all. The shower was extremely small. I am 6'1 and weigh 140 pounds and I could barely fit in the circumferance of the shower. The shower curtain was broken and rusty. Our soap dispenser next to the sink was constantly dripping soap onto the counter.
