Sail Date: Jan 2014

Our club announced this cruise offer last April, and we had 204 members sign up. Celebrity representatives were top-notch communicating with our cruise leaders, answering questions, and organizing all the details. Getting on and off the boat is challenging because of the sheer number of people; especially getting off when you are required to claim your luggage and take it through customs. If you require a wheelchair, the process is much faster and easier.

This was our 2nd cruise - the first being in 1995 - and we are so happy we decided to give cruising another chance. We never felt crowded on this very large boat. Loved the Library, Hideaway and Sky Lounge for relaxing. The entertainment offered was very popular - get there early! Enjoyed dining at the Oceanview Café, Grand Cuvee, The Porch and Bistro on Five. Bistro on Five served a variety of crepes - not quite enough food for dinner. The restaurant itself was beautiful with a great sunset view, but noisy because of the elevator being located right outside its doors and the live music wafting up from the floor below. Our server was new and so very, very nice. She served us gelato a couple of nights later. Lovely young woman. We did check out the larger, more expensive specialty restaurants and their menus, but felt they were not necessary to add to the variety and enjoyment of our dining. The dining servers were outstanding and added to the ambiance of our evenings: Calvin, Hasan, and Rusdiyanto to name a few. Our group had two private cocktail gatherings in the breathtaking Sky Lounge. Sara, the events coordinator was in attendance and overseeing the events. We greatly enjoyed the speaking presentations and attended the galley tour, the future cruises, captain's Q&A and Chief Engineer's talk. So disappointed the behind the scenes tour was $150 pp. I used the "end of the week" laundry coupon and happily went home with mostly clean clothes! All in all, we had a most wonderful, relaxing, and happy Celebrity Silhouette cruise, and we look forward to selecting additional cruises in the future.

Cabin Review

Our stateroom and bathroom was spacious with plenty of storage. Standley was our room attendant, and he and his assistant were attentive, thorough and very helpful with details. The Veranda was very enjoyable with its two reclining chairs and table as well as private.
