Celebrity succeeds

Sail Date: January 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
Have just completed two seven night cruises on the Silhouette (BtoB) and loved every minute. This was about our 11th cruise with Celebrity, 17th overall and as we are Elite Captains Club members, have some extra benefits. The food in the MDR was excellent. We did Select dining and Anne on the door was charming and efficient. We do wish the food had not been completely repeated on the second week, but that was a minor irritation. I have major food issues and. the staff couldn't have been more helpful. In fact my husband requested fresh tuna for the following night (not on the menu at all) and it appeared, perfectly cooked, who could ask for more. Dined in Murano twice and the food and the service were a step up, as it should be for the extra payment, but it was delicious.

The ship is spotless all over and our cabin was kept immaculate and all the crew were cheerful and helpful. The Oceanview cafe has every kind of food you could wish for and all very tasty. When I read other More reviews that state "it never changes" I really wonder what people want, when they have every choice every day'

The Cruise Director Patti Honacki is excellent, visible around the ship and talented, she took part in many evenings entertainment. We have cruised with her before and she is very good. The entertainment was also repeated on the second cruise. The shows were so so and we are very bored with the Cirque style shows. People who cruise regularly with Celebrity will have seen it lots of times. Something new please Celebrity!!

The star of the ship was the Captain. Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis was a natural born comedian. He kept us royally entertained, but also made us feel 100 per cent safe in his hands. We wish him well in his new posting.

The ports of call were all o.k. We had been to them all before. St kitts, San Juan, St Martin the first week. Cozumel, grand Caymaan and Labadee which is so beautiful, wish every Caribbbean cruise stopped there. The only reason I can see that we stopped in Falmouth, Jamaica, is becauseRRCL have built a cruise terminal there. There is nothing else outside it and it is a stop too far. How many diamond shops do you need to see !!

Disembarkation was not too bad as we opted for an early start.

We love Celebrity and think that in the price range they are hard to beat. Here's to the nextcruise Less

Cabin review: 6250

Cabin was good, not enough drawer space, good position on ship

Port and Shore Excursions

Labadee is heaven on earth, you only have to sit on the beach, swim in the sea or eat barbecue. Gorgeous, should be included in all Caribbean cruises!
