My wife, my adult son and daughter and I took this cruise this year. To put it simply we had a great time. The food was very good, not exceptional ( meaning 5 star NYC restaurant exceptional but I wasnt expecting that anyway) The service was perfect both in the room and at the restaurants We stayed on the 6th deck ( a little noisy because of the music playing below if you are bringing young ones or that stuff bothers you) but it never bothered us. We ate at The Black Pearl and the wait staff led by our Waiter Leslie, and Assistant Waiter Thanachot were outstanding.. friendly.. funny....and the utmost in professionals. Eli, the Cruise Director and his staff never seemed to stop working and were friendly and always approachable. The Captain did an outstanding job as the ship encountered 50 mph winds going from and returning to NYC.

We went to Cocoa Beach in Florida which was nice but doesnt have the WOW factor if thats what your looking for., but the excursion was inexpensive and the shopping areas were quaint. It was nice to get off the ship for a few hours.Nassau was beautiful. We took the excursion to Balmoral Island for Dolphin Interaction. Yes it was expensive..but to get top shelf, you have to pay top shelf so that wasnt really a concern. Dolphin Fiona was beautiful and it was something we have always wanted to do and will never forget. Please watch yourself outside of the ship at Nassau. We saw nothing illegal, but the amount of locals selling stuff, and no police presence it can be a little overwhelming if you allow it. With no visable police presence it can get uncomfortable at night if you have young children or are seniors. Freeport was beautiful. We went to a beach excursion which was beautiful and then went shopping. Shopping was nice, althought they had much of the typical tourist wear and gifts. Much of the shopping area was upscale... Rolex and many diamond/gold stores. Nice to look at but not what I need after leaving a beach. Back at the ship, we docked at a beautiful area which also had many of the tourist wear. It was a much safer feeling than in Nassau.

I highly recommend the Carnival Splendor. The Theater Shows.. Piano Bar.. Comedy shows were outstanding. The Comedy sometines had an adult theme.. but you are frequently advised of this by the Comedy Show Staff prior to the show and are given time to leave if that is not your thing.
