Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)
We cruise a great deal and have been on Princess, MSC, Royal Carib, Costa, Celebrity and Holland. We had only been on one other Norwegian cruise before this (years ago) and did not have a great experience. So, I was skeptical about trying again.

The Breakaway was beautiful. The food was great and the experience was wonderful. Best of all, the crew acted like they WANTED to be of service. I think THEY were my favorite part.

Only negatives - too many charges for too many things.

Big negative - I need to have a wheelchair - it took THREE HOURS to get those who needed assistance off. When a wheelchair was available it would disappear to be used for passengers getting on the ship!! Not fair, they weren't even supposed to board yet and we were cast aside.

The last experience should not be the worst part of the cruise. Passengers are customers from start to finish. Notice the surveys include Embarkation, but not Disembarkation Less

Cabin was fine. Smaller than on other ships and balcony definitely tiny. However, for two people, both were fine. Our cabin steward was wonderful - as were all other crew members.
