Just got back from 1/11/07 cruise aboard the Imagination to Key West, FL and Calica, Mexico. This was my second cruise, and was previously on Royal Caribbean's Sovereign of the Seas. So any comparisons are made with that ship in mind.

My girlfriend and I live in the Toledo, OH area so we flew out of Detroit, MI (DTW) to Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL) the day before our cruise. Only problem on the flight was our connection in Atlanta and had the coldest Wendy's hamburger I have ever had. No waiting at all for check-in or security at Detroit. Arrived in Fort Lauderdale around 5:30 PM and had my Aunt pick us up from FLL. She lives in the area so we did not have to get a hotel for the night and she was able to take us to Miami the next morning. Very convenient for us.

Next day, we arrived at Port of Miami around 11:30 AM and easily side-stepped the porters, electing to carry our own luggage on the ship. There was probably a 5 minute wait to check-in and pass through security. Would not have been bad except for the woman who pushed everyone out of the way saying "I have VIP check-in." Within 15 minutes of being dropped off we were walking across the gangway onto the Imagination. We immediately took our luggage down to our cabin on the main deck. Our room steward Guiterrmo greeted us and told us we could drop our bags off and he would get our room ready next since we arrived before all his cabins were clean. I was impressed with the size of the stateroom considering I had only seen the small sizes offered by RC. Room looked extremely clean and new.
