Just got back from our Jan 11-18 Pride of America cruise to Hawaiian islands. It was fabulous in every way: the service, the food, the cabin, the destinations of course are the highlight. We had very good sunny weather, were able to swim at various beaches. The ship pool water was a bit cool, but I still enjoyed it one hot afternoon.
The excursions were fun and informative - went to Haleakala and Volcanoes Natl. Park. The coach buses were very comfortable and the tour guides make it very fun. Also went ziplining on Kauai - awesome, and not just for the very young. An 80-yr old man was in our group and he did just fine. Read the descriptions carefully for the excursions so you understand the activity level required and the how many hours it takes.
We took a public bus for only $2.00 to Lahaina, and that was OK. It's kind of a long drive, and you can hit a lot of road construction coming back in the early afternoon. Be careful swimming because my friend scratched his back badly on a rock in the ocean. It's lava rock so it will tear your skin easily.
Very nice room with laquered wood cabinetry, good storage and comfortable bed. Awesome views from the large balcony.
