We had never been to South America before so were not sure what to expect. On this cruise we met some wonderful other travelers who obviously love cruising as much as we do. Every port came with new challenges and interesting things to see. It was a little disappointing that on occasions we were late into port and this definitely put the dampner on a couple of our tours we had arranged. However it really was the fellow travellers who make or break and experience and this was definitely true in this cruise. We had some memorable moments with a great bunch of people.

There are a couple of places we went that stood out for us. Our first day in Lima we did a culinary tour. This was both entertaining and informative. We made Ceviche and our own Pisco Sours and found out about the food of the country. Another notable trip was the one we did at Montevideo. It was New Years Day and everything was shut. Our guide took us around the city and showed us all the highlights. We were supposed to go to a winery but as that was shut he took us back to his home and we had a wine tasting with finger food there. It was a great and unforgettable experience. Our visit to the Falkland Islands was memorable because the people we met, the local drivers were so passionate about their place. We visited the penguins and that was a once in a lifetime experience but it was the sense of history that was everywhere that made it so special for me. All the other tours we took on this trip went well and we loved them but I feel it is important to just highlight a few.
