DH and I (late 50 and early 60 Baby Boomers) very much enjoyed our October 6 Western Caribbean Allure cruise. We have done previous cruises on the RCI Majesty, Explorer and Freedom to the Caribbean and a btb Alaskan cruise on the HAL Zaandam.

We had a Boardwalk View Balcony room on Deck 12 just four doors down from the aft near a secret balcony where we could see the wake, Aqua Theater entertainment and movie screen from a chaise lounge, as well as from our room's balcony. It was interesting to watch people passing below or doing the zip line from above your room yet it was always quiet by about 11 pm each night.

We stayed pre-cruise at the Renaissance which was a great place to watch the Oasis and other ships leave port late on Saturday afternoon. The location is within easy walking distance to stores and many affordable restaurants so you don’t need a car.

Cabin Review

Great location just four cabins back from the Secret Balcony on Deck 12. Room had clear view of ocean and wake along with half of the Aqua Theater and all of the movie screen. The room had bed by balcony which we preferred. We liked being able to see the ocean when waking and not having to squeeze in by the closet when dressing. You are directly across from other balcony cabins and they can see inside your room if you don't draw your curtains when the light is on at night. There was lots more storage than we needed. Extra large luggage fit under bed if you lifted up bed frame. Quiet at night after 11 p.m. Might be a longer walk to elevator than some would like. Husband did not use the balcony much because he is afraid of heights and got dizzy looking down. This never affected him in regular Seaview or Promenade cabins. But because we were so close to the Secret Balcony with it's chaise lounges, it was no problem.
