Passnger mix left a lot to be desired. Little class or social graces. Probably due to ridiculously low fare offerings. Even with convenience of ship location, we should have anticipated this. Elegant night an absolute farce. We should have taken a clue from the fare span. The facilities were adequate and as well maintained as possible in a ship her age. We had no quarrel with the service on board, the cabin staff was excellent as were the food service on the Lido. The dining staff was pleasant but slow.
The menu was tired, inadequate and poorly prepared. The only appetizers or main dishes that were edible were the escargot and it was cold. The deserts were terrible. Someone should inform the chefs that Cherries Jubilee, by definition are a flaming dis of cherries over FROZEN ice cream which are covered in a liquer and ignited. Thus the Jubilee name.Ours was a dish of melted icedream and a cup of canned cherries. A baked Alaska is historically an mound of frozen ice ceam in a pastry shell that is the baked with a topping. Not so here.
Elegant night should have been enforced. Very few people participated. The dining room staff should enforce the practice and respectfully suggest those cruisers who will not or cannot dress properly to dine in the Lido.
Suite large, roomy and well maintained..Best feature of entire experience.
