It was a 4-day New Year cruise on the Sky-our first Norwegian Cruise. Embarkation was fast. Luggage came with a lag, but before too late. The good things about the cruise were-good crew, courteous staff, fairly good buffet food except on the first day, clean room, and excellent food and service at the Crossings (complimentary dining). Never got to try the Longboard Bar (complimentary) next to the Outdoor Buffet. They serve better food for the late afternoon snack/tea than lunch/dinner. But not very many vegetarian choices except some pasta, fruit, and salads.

Crowd is mostly a drinking and gambling one. Not much else goes on, so if you don't do either, it's boring. No rowdiness anywhere though. Stateroom areas are quiet. Limited shopping exists on this smallest Norwegian ship. The nightclub has the same crowd. The evening stageshows were mediocre, except for the Vegas Show on the final night. It was great! The ship itself is cleaned frequently so no issues there. It has a small library but it's in a very cold area-you freeze!

Freeport and Paradise Island were fun because the weather was good. Nassau is pretty avoidable. Stirrup Cay had excellent barbecue and was set up nicely, but rough weather ruined it. The tender rides to and from the ship were nightmarish. The sea got so rough that we prayed to get back safely. They said that they had no prior warning of that. Wish they had cancelled the entire trip by early afternoon. The water was heaving-we wished we had seen that through the window and not got on to the tenders at all! That left a bad memory on New Year's Eve.
