Just returned from cruising with costa,what a disappointment. Embarkation took about 2 hours,so slow. Got on board,went to cabin which is very small,the toilet smelt of urine as soon as we walked in. Went for something to eat,food not hot,no hot water left for tea,tables dirty,staff miserable and most unable to speak English..ship left 2 hours late from Singapore,no explanation for it either. In fact every port we visited the costa victoria left late. I was looking forward to seeing Bali but we were 4 hours late arriving and it was dark when we got there. The excursions that were offered to us we're mainly heritage tours, no beach tours,no snorkelling or diving tours,tours offered by locals were much better including zoos,turtle farms,paragliding etc. I would not recommend costa cruises. I think charging 11 dollars a day per person for service charges is disgusting and it is not optional,which is probably why most of the staff were miserable gits as they know passengers are being charged daily whatever. The only staff member we would have paid a service charge to would have been our cabin steward. Costa victoria need more staff and better management skills. Also had to pay for laundry charges,other cruises we have been on have laundrettes. Wifi charges horrendous. Disembarkation not to bad but it was a relief to get off. If you want a lovely cruise with great and polite staff go with princess cruises you won't regret it.
