My partner, two daughters, mom and I sailed on the Norwegian Spirit out of New York on their Christmas cruise, leaving New York on the WInter Solstice. My mom is a dedicated cruiser and this cruise was our very generous gift from her. My partner is not a cruise person and it was not our first choice of a vacation but on the whole we enjoyed ourselves.

Embarkation would have been a nightmare, very long lines and very warm in the pier, but my mom is a Latitudes member and that line was much shorter, probably a 15 minute wait. The staff was helpful and we had preregistered online so it all went smoothly.

We had adjoining cabins on Deck 9. It was cozy for the four of us. Our daughters are 3 and 6 and they slept on a pullout convertible which made getting around they room when they were asleep next to impossible. The girls loved the handheld shower in the bathroom and the setup of the bathroom worked well for us. I brought extra hangers as I usually do and was glad as there was nowhere near enough. We were able to store our empty luggage under our bed, fortunately, otherwise the room would have been a complete disaster. Our cabin attendants were pleasant enough, one of them made the girls towel animals in the evening.
