Well where do I start. In all my years of cruising, this cruise was the worst and what the cruise industry has built up over time was ruined by Costa. As Carnival owns Costa and many other, the Costa name is a liability to the Carnival brand and as a shareholder of Carnival I would recommend them sell them off or revisit there relevance and take action before more customers are turned off by cruising in general. The cruise industry has spent a significant amount of time and money to make cruising a fun experience, and over time have been successful. This cruise has reversed what cruising is all about, fine dining, exceptional service, quality entertainment, but most of all the experience of elegance and fun at the same time. The quality of the food was below standard on this cruise, they are catering to the chinese customer and from what I experienced on this cruise they are not really expecting much and do not seem to know the difference. No coffee or tea being offered with dessert at dinner? We were told at breakfast only, but had to complain in order for them to serve at dinner! In the afternoon with all the eateries closed except for the pizzeria, they closed off the water station which meant no plain ice water available. This was brought to the attention of the food service supervisors who walk around the ship, with them agreeing they should be open, but no change was made! Cabin washroom always smelled of urine, because they have some sort of wooden floor that seems to absorb the moisture and never goes away. Chinese staff seemed to be training on the job, english language skills absent as well as server experience seem to be non existent. Better hope there is no emergency on this ship, as you will be on your own with no communication skills. No gala night pictures on formal night! To sum it up they have taken the fun out of cruising, the special experience, and have cheapened it to the point of why bother.
